Monthly Archives: July 2013

An older image of mine, taken back in 2006 up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is a nice spot where you can get away from the hustle and bustle of the bay area and just relax for a bit.

Late autumn out at the Marin French Cheese Company’s duck pond. The fallen leaves from this tree have created a fairly undisturbed blanket on the grass below while the sky above is starting to show some life in preparation for the coming winter.

Just north of the Pt. Reyes Lighthouse is a long, nearly straight, beach that stretches for quite a few miles. From Drakes Bay almost all the way up to Bodega Bay, this beach covers almost the entire western edge of the Point Reyes National Seashore and is perfect for watching sunsets. Continue reading
Late Fall out at the Marin French Cheese Company. The summer leaves have all fallen, the tourists gone, and the picnic benches lie vacant. But despite the decline in visitors over the winter months, this place is still a beauty with the duck pond and rolling hills in the distance. Continue reading

So just what do you do after backpacking for 2 days in the summer, climbing almost 2000ft in elevation over a distance of just under 2 miles with no trail!? Forget setting up the tent, strip off and jump in the closest body of water!

Taken during a backpacking trip in the high sierra mountains of California.

When it comes to “Fancy Cheese” I am truely grateful to be so close to the French Marin Cheese Company. These folks churn out some great cheeses right on the outskirts of my home town, and they’ve got a lovely picnic area to boot!

Taken on my birthday in 2005, late fall is one of my favorite times of the year to visit Yosemite. The summer crowds are gone, the weather is constantly changing, and the colors are more diverse in the forest.

The trail leading out of Muir Woods Park and eventually winding its way up to the Mt. Tam summit starts off as an easy climb. Before too long however you’ll find yourself fighting the “uphill” battle to reach the top before your water supply runs out, especially in the summer.

Happy 4th of July!

Here in the bay area the weather could not be better for some All-American festivities. BBQs are lighting up all across the area this afternoon in anticipation for the various fireworks shows happening all around the bay tonight. While you’re out celebrating, I’d like to remind everyone to be safe! No doubt that with the heat wave happening here in the bay, that the fire risk is extremely high. Many counties and cities have a fireworks ban in place and while I know the novelty of celebrating with sparklers and other festive fireworks is tempting, just be responsible.

With that out of the way, I’d like to offer you a special discount on prints and products that will run through the weekend!!! From now through July 7th, take 40% off ANY order. 4 days only to get in on this special summer deal!

This will probably be my last coupon as I am dropping the ability to offer them with SmugMug at the end of the month. The extra $150/yr isn’t really worth it for me, so get in on this deal while you can!

Now that all the business stuff is outta the way, HAVE FUN today and this weekend! Enjoy your day off work, eat some BBQ or salad, drink a cool beverage, and marvel at the fireworks displays to come! #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-1 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-1 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
